Forest TK

12-week sessions beginning in September

Mondays - Thursdays

8:10/8:30AM or 9:00/9:15AM - 12:10/12:30PM or 1:00/1:15PM

FOR CHILDREN whose 5TH Birthday is between Sept 2ND & Dec 2ND TO ENGAGE IN SELF DIRECTED LEARNING & ADVENTURE PLAY, this includes:​

​​

  • Sequential and explicit literacy instruction utilizing Orton Gillingham techniques

  • Inquiry into topics informed by California State Standards

  • Application of knowledge through science explorations, nature numeracy, nature journaling; field notes, oral/written narrations, dictations, illustrations, etc.

  • Multi-sensory exploration for hands-on learning

  • Child-led & expeditionary

  • Can be combined with the Native School Science Collective on Friday

Our Forest TK Program takes place ‘RAIN OR SHINE’ in wild spaces where children have access to:

​

  • Natural resources FOR SELF DIRECTED projects

  • A functional shelter to ensure comfort while leaving plenty of opportunities for exploration

  • A child-friendly hand washing station promoting hygiene and self-care.

  • A safe and child-accessible nature classroom potty within the outdoor learning environment
